Becoming a scammer for a day
I wanted to find out how easy it is to become a tech support scammer and how much if costs to run a fake/virus popup campaign.
Although I failed miserably at getting calls, it does show just how little outlay you need to run a malicious popup campaign.

40 Billion People Infected With Fake Computer Virus
It’s certainly not very convincing, but this scammer tried to tell us that 40 billion devices and/or 8 billion had been infected with this virus… That’s certainly not possible mr scammer man.

“Granny” Spends 3 Hours With Tech Scammers (Edited)
“Granny Edna” is a persona we developed through various live streams and suggestions. This 3 hour call is our current personal best. I removed some of the extra stalls like “going to the bathroom” for 5 mins or repeating a story told earlier in the call. At some points the scammer tried to install things like firefox for 20 mins and I removed that because it wasn’t very interesting.
